Children’s Specialist 2 is a 3-day on snow event. You must sign up for all 3 days as a block the first time attending CS2. If you need to retake one or two days, please submit a paper application to the office with the retake days you need.

All participants are required to complete the CS2 online quiz successfully before attending the CS2 event and complete the Children's Specialist 2 Workbook prior to attending Children's Specialist 2. Please bring your completed workbook with you; it will be collected when you check in for the CS2 event.  (Put your name on each page.)

Child Specialist 2 is a three-day on snow scored examination process. It is open to candidates of any discipline that have previously achieved level II certification. The Child Specialist 2 is one of the most informational and job-specific events offered in PSIA-RM. The event focuses on the specifics of child development. Participants will need to integrate their technical understanding of the CAP model with movement analysis and scored teaching activities for children ages 3-14. Participants are evaluated on their knowledge and expertise in teaching children and are awarded Child Specialist 2 upon successful completion of the 3-day event, the on-line quiz, and completion of the CS2 workbook. (Please refer to the PSIA/AASI National Standards document for a more complete description of children’s specialist 2. This document is on the PSIA-RM website under children’s reference materials.)

Day One will start with a short review and opportunity to discuss movement analysis on snow. The examiner will demonstrate a movement analysis for the group. Candidates will be assigned times for the indoor movement analysis evaluation in the afternoon.

Day two will start with a short review on snow and the examiner will demonstrate a short teach. Candidates will be evaluated on their individual short teaches.

Day three will start with an introduction to the card scenarios, and how candidates will draw cards to create their scenario. The examiner will draw cards and demonstrate a teaching presentation. Then candidates will draw their cards and deliver a creative teaching presentation for their final evaluation.

*This event is mandatory for the Alpine Level 3 certification
