Snowboard Freestyle Specialist 1 Preview & Exam - Snowmass CANCELLED

On-line registration is not available for this event at this time.
Note: You must be a PSIA-RM Member and be logged in to register for events
Registration Deadline 1/30/2019 Members and candidates with disabilities (whether physical or cognitive), who are considering applying for a certification exam must contact the Steamboat Springs office at least four weeks in advance of the scheduled test or exam to provide notice of their requested reasonable accommodation and to discuss their situations before the registration deadline date. Requests for accommodations will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

This one-day clinic and two-day exam will cover all aspects of freestyle including a better understanding of the level 1 Freestyle specialist exam standards. (The one-day clinic is not required prior to the 2 day exam but is highly recommended.  If you wish to sign up for just the one-day clinic or just the 2 day exam please fill out a paper registration form and send in to the RM office.)

During the one day clinic participants will spend time riding all different facets of freestyle such as jumps, rails/jibs, pipe, flatland and all-mountain. You will also explore different teaching progressions and movement analysis methods when in and outside the park. You will be given feedback where you currently stand within the level 1 Freestyle Specialist standard.

During the two day exam candidates will be evaluated according to the standards of level 1 Freestyle Specialist. To attain this freestyle specialist level, a candidate must successfully meet the standards of Instruction, Movement Analysis and Riding Skills. Concepts, skills and ideas from the candidate’s previous certifications should be shown throughout the evaluation process.

Please note specific characteristics of features are variable based on what is available from resort to resort. The clinic leader will do their best to choose features that are most appropriate to assessing the skills relative to the standard. AASI-RM reserves the right to cancel this event when weather conditions require it.
